Motherhood

Today I think my kids were trying to set a record for most "tattle tale"ing and pestering. I'll have to look it up to verify but I think they came very close to an all time Guiness Book of World Records high. I lost my patience a few times. But, I also unloaded the dishwasher with my son. I took my kids to the library and I read Magic School Bus to my daughter. And, I held my baby when she cried after her shots. And we had family prayer, even though one of the kids was intentionally scooting around the room during the prayer and poking his sister to the point of bringing her to tears...yes, that was DURING the prayer.

It wasn't a perfect day but I tried. I tried to be a mom who loves my kids and teaches them. I tried to let them know what is important. And they're just kids. They make mistakes...just like me. And, like me, they had their good moments too. They did their chores and told me that they loved me and looked adorable in their pajamas. And tonight I am reminded that this is important work.
My friend posted this on Facebook tonight. Look for the kids wiggling during the prayer...I laughed through my tears as I watched.
